Building Lives Up, Envisioned Paths Restored In Needed Times
"Building Her Up to Build the World"

Introducing Women into the Construction Industry
Code B.L.U.E.P.R.I.N.T is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering all women in Nevada, and Arizona by providing education, training, and certification in building inspections and code compliance. By offering a pathway into a lucrative and in-demand profession, we aim to break down barriers, reduce socio-economic challenges, and pave the way for a brighter future for the women in our community.

What We Try to Instill
Intellectual Integrity
Critical Thinking and Open-mindedness: Engaging in thoughtful analysis and considering multiple perspectives. Being open to new ideas and willing to challenge one's own belief
Lifelong Learning: Pursuing knowledge and self-improvement. Staying curious, seeking new experiences, and continuously growing intellectually.

The building inspection and code enforcement industry is facing a critical workforce decline—your support directly fuels its revival and reinvention.
Here’s the reality: the industry is aging, shrinking, and struggling to attract new talent. But with your help, we can turn that tide—and bring women and LGBTQ+ professionals into a field that desperately needs fresh leadership.
The Crisis in Code Enforcement
Employment of building inspectors is projected to decline by 71% from 2024 to 2034, with a loss of approximately 11,200 jobs.
Despite this decline, 14,800 openings are expected annually, driven by retirements and workforce exits—not growth.
A recent workforce gap analysis revealed significant barriers to entry, including lack of outreach, limited diversity, and insufficient hands-on training.
The industry is overwhelmingly male and aging, with many jurisdictions reporting difficulty recruiting younger, more diverse professionals.
Why This Matters
Building inspectors and code enforcement officers are the unsung heroes of public safety. They ensure that homes, schools, and businesses meet structural, fire and life safety, and energy efficiency codes. Without them, communities face increased risks—from unsafe buildings to environmental hazards.
But the current pipeline is broken. If we don’t act now, we risk losing institutional knowledge, weakening enforcement standards, and compromising public safety.
The Opportunity
Our program doesn’t just fill a gap—it redefines the future, by training women and LGBTQ+ individuals in building inspections and code compliance,
Revitalize a fading industry with fresh talent and inclusive leadership.
Increase representation in a field that has long excluded marginalized voices.
Ensure safer communities through rigorous, equity-driven enforcement.
Create economic mobility for participants through high-paying, respected careers.

Where I started, Who I Was and Who I Am Today
My journey was one of incredible strength, resilience, and unwavering determination. I was always a fiercely independent and a headstrong young woman, traits that both empowered and sometimes led me astray. At sixteen, my path took a tumultuous turn when I fell in love for the first time. This relationship, fraught with challenges, and introduced me to bad elements. It wasn’t long before I found myself pregnant and then abandoned by my partner, who left me for another.
The struggles I faced during this time were immense. I fought to overcome many obstacles while navigating the complexities of young motherhood. But even in the face of such adversity, my spirit remained unbroken. I eventually met the love of my life, or so I thought, and together we built a life that seemed to fulfill all my dreams. We had several children, started a business, and I believed I had found true happiness. But life had other plans. My partner's betrayal was a devastating blow, leaving me heartbroken and struggling to pick up the pieces of my life once again.
Returning to my mother’s home in midlife, I experienced a series of relationships that never quite lasted. Eventually, I found myself in Pahrump, Nevada, with my teenage children. My struggles only deepened, leading me into the grips of more perils., I finally hit rock bottom. However, life offered me a second chance. Despite my hardships— the one who I found myself counting on at that time was dealing with personal challenges as well making things more complicated. This was my only means of transportation and I was left with only one choice which was walking eight and a half miles each way to get to my appointments and obligations as there was no public transportation available. And as a single mother in such a dire situation I didn't dare ask for assistance.
Determined not to return to a life of bad elements, I found my true self and my inner personal value. I committed to self-improvement, educating myself and joining the Brownsville program. My journey of transformation led me to Charles Abbott Associates, where I became the only woman in Nye County with seven certifications as a building inspector. I became known for my fierce integrity earning me the nickname “the bulldog,” and I recognized the critical need for building codes, even earning nominations to teach in other countries.
During my time of tribulation and rise to my new self, I faced another heartbreaking loss—the passing of my mother. This profound loss added another layer of grief to my journey, but it also fueled my determination to honor my mother's memory by becoming a beacon of hope for others.
My thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and I never stopped learning. My hard work and dedication were recognized when I was inducted into the Library of Congress as a Woman of Distinction. I had a new vision and got a fresh start” But my ’story didn’t end there. I channeled my experiences and personal growth into framing out my 501c3 nonprofit. My mission was to mentor and offer paths to other women, including those who identified as women, sharing with them my journey of who I was, who I am now and where my future is leading me.
My nonprofit is my next chapter where I hope to offer a beacon of hope, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for women to realize their potential. Maybe my story of resilience, personal growth, and unwavering drive to empower others might possibly serve as an inspiration to all who knew me or gets to know me. I had turned my pain and hardships, into purpose, creating a legacy of love, forgiveness, and personal improvement that will hopefully endure for generations to come. Through my nonprofit, I fully intend to ensure that more women would have the chance to write their own stories, filled with hope, strength, and endless possibilities.
